Removal of the tonsils is necessary in the following cases:

- Frequent recurrence of tonsillitis (more than 3 – 5 years in children, more than 2 per year in adults)

Adenoid or adenoid is lymphoid tissue located at the back of the nose above the soft palate and protects the body from microbes. It is normally found in all children and is not seen when viewed from the mouth. If it grows too much, it gives symptoms by causing nasal and nasal congestion. The following symptoms occur:

- Disruption of nasal breathing, mouth breathing, snoring, respiratory arrest during sleep

- Recurrent or chronic inflammation of the nose, nasal passages, and sinuses

- Middle ear infections and fluid accumulation in the middle ear with heavy hearing

- Growth of glands on the neck
